"Completely Smoke-Free Campus" Initiative Begins

Dear Students and Graduates, Esteemed Visitors,

Universities are not only institutions where education, teaching, and research activities are conducted, but also pioneering organizations where a culture of healthy living is developed, social awareness is increased, and exemplary practices are provided for future generations.

In line with the "Smoke-Free Campus Implementation Guide," prepared in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), and the Turkish Green Crescent Society, and in accordance with Law No. 4207 and relevant Presidential Circulars, a new era has begun at our University with the aim of building a healthy future.

In accordance with the decision taken by our University Senate, the "Completely Smoke-Free Campus" application has been officially implemented in all campuses of our University as of July 1, 2026, with the aim of providing a clean, healthy, and safe living environment for all our stakeholders.

Scope of Application
As of July 1, 2026, the use of the following products is completely prohibited in all open and closed areas of our University campuses:

Cigarettes and all tobacco products

Electronic Cigarettes (E-cigarettes)

Heated Tobacco Products

Hookah and similar products
